The famous mountain village of Grindelwald is embedded in a unique Alpine landscape at the foot of the Eiger north face. It is the diversity of the glacier village that makes it so attractive. A wide range of activities and recreational opportunities amidst unspoiled nature is waiting to be discovered. Eiger village is the ideal starting point for the best excursions to the Jungfrau region, such as Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe, First, Kleine Scheidegg, or Männlichen.

Top adventures in Grindelwald-First

The First is an ideal attraction for all kind of activities and adventures in all year round. The cable car takes you in three stages from the valley station to Grindelwald-First at 2,168 metres above sea level. On top of the observation deck by the terrace of the mountain restaurant, a the bridge juts 45 meters out into nowhere! That is “First Cliff Walk presented by Tissot” where you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the valley.

And on your way down, whether you opt for the 800-metre First Flyer zipline or a high-octane scooter ride, a rush of speed and adrenaline is guaranteed! The First Flyer enables brave souls to glide through the air for 800 metres at speeds of up to 84km/h. Also children can enjoy the 700-square metre playground at the Bort middle station.

For ski lovers

The two ski regions of First and Kleine Scheidegg – Männlichen – Wengen offer 160 kilometres of pistes with around 30 lifts reaching up to an altitude of 2500 m. The Schilthorn near Mürren, also part of the Jungfrau region ski arena, even reaches 2971 metres. But the most spectacular piste of the region is without doubt the Lauberhorn piste near Wengen, popularised by the World Cup circus.

For hiking lovers

If you are looking for a gentle walk, you can marvel at the Jungfrau Eiger Walk at close range. The two and a half kilometres long, well-developed trail from the Eiger glacier station to Kleine Scheidegg (or vice versa) is also well-suited for inexperienced hikers. A trip back in time with a breathtaking view of the most famous north face of the Alps.
